Montana Black Bear euthanized

A female cinnamon colored black bear was put down for entering a tent and eating human food of picnic table at a fishing access on Blackfoot River near Ovando, Montana.

The 150lb 4 year old sow had been frequenting the Russel Gates campground and did receive food rewards previously. The bear did not have cubs. Despite efforts to encourage public to keep clean camps and store food properly the bear continued to frequent area and was deemed a threat to public safety.
She was captured and removed Wednesday west of Ovando
